Business & Corporate Events
Workshops are available for on-site events at your location (or at The Silos studio #114), including hotel conference spaces and meeting rooms.
Service is available within a 50-mile radius of the studio (The Silos at Sawyer Yards, Houston). Locations beyond this range may incur additional travel fees.

There are two workshop options to choose from.
Layering with WAX
Participants work on an 8x10 wood panel, building layered designs with wax, tissue paper, etchings/drawings, oil sticks, stencils, magazines, dried flowers, etc..

Each participant leaves with one 8x10 encaustic work on wood.
Photos + WAX
Each participant provides two personal photographs, which I print on tissue paper. (For corporate events, I provide an assortment of readied photos for participants to choose from if that is preferred.)
In class, we combine the two printed images onto two 5x5 wood panels, fusing them with melted wax and heat, then finish with subtle color tones and, when the image allows, add stenciling, etchings, or tissue paper for extra detail.
Each participant leaves with two finished 5x5 encaustic works on wood.
Meet Your Instructor
Shauna Marie Martin is a Houston-based encaustic artist and a Texas State Board of Educators certified instructor with over 15 years of experience in art education. She leads workshops designed to be structured, engaging, and accessible for all skill levels - from complete beginners to experienced creatives.
Her approach combines clear guidance with space for individual expression, allowing each participant to create a personal piece while working within a shared group experience.
For corporate and group settings, Shauna focuses on creating a welcoming, low-pressure environment that encourages creativity, collaboration, and focus - making her workshops well-suited for team building, client events, and wellness-focused programs.
Space + Venue Requirements
A flat workspace with tables and chairs is required. I provide protective coverings for work surfaces and floors.

Tables/chairs required for all quests as well as three additional tables for heated elements and supplies

Power needs - three separate electrical outlets for three separate heated element stations

Access to venue for setup at minimum 1.5 hour before event
Pricing Details
Base run time is 2 hours for private event (includes all materials and respective wood panels):

$90 per additional hour requested

50% deposit is required to secure reservation, remaining balance due one week before the workshop event
Cancellation Policy
Deposit is fully refundable if canceled 14 days or more before the event.
